About Mutenye
Mutenye veneer, harvested from the Guibourtia arnoldiana tree of Central Africa, is a golden-tan hardwood veneer prized for its distinctive ribbon-striped and mottled figure. When quarter cut, the interlocked grain produces a shimmering, chatoyant effect that shifts in appearance as light and viewing angle change.
Closely related to Bubinga and Ovangkol, Mutenye is a favorite in fine furniture, musical instrument backs, and decorative wall paneling where a lively, richly figured surface is called for. It finishes to a warm, glowing luster.
